Introducing my plant A – Z

I’ve created a plant A -7 page complete detailing how much seeds will cost, and when you need to sow them.

I’ve grown a lot of different types of the same fruit and veg over the years and during that time, I’ve tried to blog about how, why and what I’ve planted, along with any problems I’ve come across.

I also like to do a little bit of investigation into what I’m growing and dig out a little bit of history associated with that variety. 

As I’ve blogged, I’ve created different categories to help me keep track of what I’m doing and to help compartmentalise my content. (By the way, if you’re a blogger using WordPress and would like to know about categorising your content – click here.)

Over the last month or so I’ve been thinking about how I can make the most of this content and I have decided to make a plant A – Z page, which will act as an index page if you’re looking to find information on a particular variety or just my experiences with that plant.  

I know what you’re thinking – he’s only linking to category pages, that’s not very special… And you’re right – however, I’ve done something else as well… 

Sow, plant and harvest

I’ve built widgets for these category pages that show you when you should sow, plant and harvest that particular plant – just as a quick overview of what can be done and when. 

Seed price comparison 

I’ve done a search online to find out how much a packet of seeds would cost from 5 of the top seed manufacturers online. This cost represents the price of one standard packet of seeds, tuber or bulbs.
