Today is World Book Day which according to Wikipedia is…
Is an annual event the organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. World Book Day was first celebrated on 23 April 1995, and continues to be recognized on that day. A related event in the United Kingdom and Ireland is observed in March.

I’m confident that this book sits on many a gardener’s shelf.
A new edition has just been published and I confidently say it’s one the books I turn to first when I’m at a loss with problems on the plot.
The Essential Allotment Guide by John Harrison
This little book covers everything from clearing a plot to what to grow and when.
A similar month by month approach as the book above, it’s another book I turn to when I’m at a loss of inspiration.
150 of my best ever gardening tips by Richard Jackson
This is a great little stocking filler and it’s fully of great little gardening hacks and tips to call upon when I need it.
Delia’s Complete Cookery Course – Classic Edition by Delia Smith
I know what you’re thinking… This isn’t a gardening book – and you’d be right!
I love cooking and it’s one of the reasons why I grow my own. If I’m ever at a loss with what to do with my produce, I look to good ol’ Delia for inspiration!
The Gardener’s Year by DK
This book is filled with timeless tips, is one of the more hefty valuable gardening guides on the shelf.
Everything from the “first sight of the first spring flowers to the last of the autumn harvest.”
Fifty Sheds of Grey by C. T. Grey
Not strictly a gardening book… Just something to turn to if you need a laugh or two 🙂

This book addresses how to cook wholesome meals with produce fresh from the plot.
It’s great book for seasoned cook or amateur chef looking for inspiration in the kitchen.
